Main Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of knowledge both Face to Face and online.

  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods

  • Create supporting materials/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)

  • Define and implement assessment criteria and methods

  • Maintenance of and ongoing improvement of materials in line with Adult Learning principles

  • Develop strong relationships with all departments to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training

  • Act as L&D Subject Matter Expert for all internal projects to ensure the most appropriate learning solution is applied

  • Conduct performance analysis, using surveys, performance statistics and interviews, to determine organisational and individual training requirements

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programmes and curriculums

  • Familiarity with business strategy and key performance indicators to be able to provide learning recommendation to meet business needs

  • Ability to conduct Train the Trainer sessions face to face and virtually

  • Utilise the Learning Management System to manage and track deployment of all learning solutions

  • Utilisation of Project management methodologies for all new design projects.

  • Some facilitation may also be required

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a corporate Learning and Development environment

  • Proven work experience in Instructional Design

  • In-depth understanding of Adult Learning Principles and learning design theories

  • Solid knowledge of Rapid authoring tools - Lectora and/or Storyline

  • Experience using visual design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) and the ability to storyboard

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)

  • Understanding of the commercial importance of high quality Learning

  • Formulate facilitator guides and determine instructional methods, such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops

  • Select and/or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and computer tutorials

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent organisational and scheduling skills

  • Certificate IV in Training Assessment

  • Tertiary qualifications in appropriate discipline (highly desirable)
